I am so happy to share this recipe. This is my first cake that I prepared in cooker. Got this recipe from a friend in group and tried it making some difference in my style. This came out really well and everyone at home enjoyed having it… Of course got lot of appreciate too…???
- Atta – 1 cup
- Sooji/rava – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Oil/ghee – 1/2 cup
- Dates – 6
- Salt – pinch
- Milk – 1 cup
1.Blend dates coarsely adding milk and dry roast Sooji until nice aroma comes.
2.Mix well atta, Sooji, sugar, oil, Salt, blended dates and milk.
3.Grease aluminium vessel with oil and transfer the mixture into it. Level the surface at top.
4.Sprinkle horlicks at top(optional). Keep it undisturbed for about half an hour.
5.Add salt tin pressure cooker at bottom for about an inch.
6.Keep the aluminium vessel into the cooker at the top of salt.
7.Remove rubber gasket and whistle from the cooker and close the lid.
8.Cook in medium flame for about half an hour.
9.When the heat reduces remove the vessel from cooker and insert toothpick to see if cooked.
10.If nothing sticks to toothpick and comes out easily then the cake is cooked well.
11.Transfer to a plate and can be decorated as per wish.
- Jaggery can be added instead of sugar.
- Two tsp of curd and pinch of baking soda can be added for extra softness.
- Egg and dry fruits can be added as per taste.
