Broccoli rice or pulao is a simple dish with great nutritional value. Broccoli is a very good source of vitamin K and C, folic acid and also provides potassium, fiber. This is good option for pregnant woman and kids. So I have started including it in our diet on regular basis.
- Broccoli florets – 1 cup
- Green peas – 1/2 cup
- Cooked rice – 1 cup
- Onion – 1
- Pepper – 5
- Butter – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – pinch
- Salt – as required
1.Wash the broccoli florets and peas and steam both together with little water for 10 minutes.
2.Heat butter in a pan and add cumin seeds when butter melts.
3.Add chopped onion and saute until it becomes translucent.
4.Then add broccoli and peas to the onions. crush pepper seeds and add to it along with turmeric powder and salt.
5.Saute for few more minutes. Add cooked rice and mix well.
6.Garnish with coriander leaves before serving hot.
- Don’t add salt for babies below one year of age.
- Mint leaves, Cashews can be added to make it rich.
