I tried this appam after watching a cookery show and made some difference so i could be a healthy tasty snack.
- Brown rice flour-1 cup
- Wheat flour-1/2 cup
- Sooji-1/2 cup
- Coconut pieces-1/2 cup
- Jaggery-1/2 cup
- Elachi powder-1 sp.
- Ghee- as required
1.Mix all the ingredients except jaggery and ghee in a bowl.
2.Dissolve jaggery with water and heat for five minutes in medium flame.
3.When jaggery dissolves, filter it and add to the mixture n the bowl.
4.Mix well and bring it into dosa batter consistency.
5.Heat Paniyaram maker and fill the holes with ghee.
6.Then pour the batter into holes and ensure even cooking in both sides.
- White rice can also be used and the sweetness can be adjusted as per requirement.
