Cabbage capsicum sabzi with step-wise pictures. Cabbage capsicum sabzi is a healthy Indian side dish prepared with only few ingredients. This dry sabzi can be served as side dish for rice, chapathi or dosa. This is low calorie recipe prepared without much spices.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Cabbage – 1/2
  • Capsicum – 1
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Dry chilli – 2
  • Asafoetida – pinch
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp

METHOD:

1. Wash the veggies. Remove seeds from capsicum and chop into pieces. Chop cabbage lengthwise.

2. Heat a pan with oil, add mustard seeds and Cumin seeds. Once splutters, add asafoetida, turmeric powder and dry chilli to it.

3. Saute for a minute in low flame. Add cabbage and capsicum and saute well.

4. Add Coriander powder, chilli powder and required salt. Stir well and add required water for cooking veggies.

5. Cook covered in medium flame until the veggies are cooked well or pressure cook for 2 whistles.

6. Once it becomes dry, switch off and add lemon juice. Mix and garnish with Coriander leaves.

7. Serve the tasty cabbage capsicum sabzi with rice or chapathi.
