INGREDIENTS:

  • Potato – 2
  • Cabbage – 2 cups
  • Onion – 1
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon – 1/2 inch
  • Cloves – 2
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Oil – 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – for garnishing

METHOD:

1. Wash potato and cabbage. Chop lengthwise and keep the potato immersed in water to prevent discolouration.

2. Heat oil in a pan. Add Cinnamon, Cloves, bay leaf, Fennel seeds and Cumin seeds. Saute for a minute.

3. Add chopped onion and saute until translucent. Now add the chopped vegetables and saute for a minute.

4. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and required salt. Saute well and pour required water for cooking vegetables.

5. Stir, check for salt and cook covered in medium flame until vegetables are cooked soft.

6. Once it becomes thick, switch off and garnish with coriander leaves.

7. The healthy cabbage potato sabzi is ready. Serve hot for paratha or chapathi.
