A happy news is that I got a new microwave convection oven. I was searching for simple cake recipes to prepare and finally decided of baking this chocolate cake with wheat flour. A healthy try to give cake for my baby girl and it turned out so yummy. Next month is her birthday, I have planned to learn baking very quickly trying cakes often at home so that I can make cake for her cake smashing event. The cake turned out to be super moist and soft. Do try it and let me know ☺☺
I am sending this recipe as guest post to gkfooddiary by Kalyani krishnan. I love her blog, the way she presents and her photographic skill. She is one of my inspirations in starting a blog as I said before itself. She is such a down towards person.
- Wheat flour – 2 cups
- Banana – 1 large size
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup
- Oil – 1 /3 cup
- Water – 1 cup
- Baking powder – 1 /2 tsp
- Choco chips – 1/2 cup
1.Peel the banana and mash well using spoon in a mixing bowl. Preheat oven to 150° C
2.Add wheat flour, cocoa powder, oil, sugar, baking powder to the banana mash and mix well adding water little by little.
3.When everything is mixed well and the mixture reaches desired consistency add choco chips and mix.
4.Grease the baking pan with oil and pour the mixture into it.
5.Bake for 20 minutes in microwave mode or until the cake is done. Insert tooth pick to check if it is baked well. Mine got done at 17 minutes so keep an eye on the cake after 15 minutes.
6.Let it cool completely on wire rack, invert, cut into slices and serve.
- I have used nendra pazham you can use any sweet variety of banana.
- If the banana is very sweet then adjust sugar accordingly.
- Melted butter can be used instead of oil. I have used oil and ghee in equal quantity.
