Thatta payir sundal is very healthy evening snack. I am a big fan of sundal recipes and love to eat it with a cup of coffee. I made this karamani sundal for this year tamil new year along with sakkarai pongal.
- Karamani – 1 cup
- Onion – 1
- Coconut – 3 tsp
- Red chilli – 4
- Mustard seeds – 1 /2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 /3 tsp
- Salt – as required
- Oil – 1 tsp
1.Soak karamani overnight or for 3-4 hours. Pressure cook for three whistles adding little salt.
2.Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when they pop up, add onion and red chilli and saute until they change colour.
3.Add cooked karamani along with little salt and turmeric powder.
4.Saute well for a minute and add coconut. Mix well and remove from flame.
5.The healthy cowgram sundal is ready.
