Masoor dal can be given to babies from 7th month of age. This can be given after introducing rice and basic pulses. Masoor dal contains iron, protein, fiber and offer the growing baby lot of important nutrients.
- Masoor dal- 1/4 cup
- Rice – 1/2 cup
- Ghee-1 sp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 sp
- Pepper seeds – 1/2 sp
1.Heat ghee in cooker and add cumin seeds, pepper seeds.
2.When they splutter, add water and bring to boil.
3.Then add masoor dal and rice, close the lid of cooker.
4.Let it cook for three whistles and when the pressure completely gets down, mix everything together.
- Brown rice can be used as it is more nutritious than white rice.
- Cashews fried in ghee can be added when giving for toddlers.
- Tastes good with masoor dal sambar.
