PEANUT LADOO / KADALAI URUNDAI

I wanted to prepare a special sweet for pongal and came out with my childhood favourite kadalai urundai. I use to eat this daily when I was in school as we will be getting it in a shop near our school.  I tried it and came out really well with the same taste. This is my version of making kadalai urundai which is quick and very easy to make without preparing any syrup. Happy Pongal 🙂 🙂

INGREDIENTS:

  • Peanuts – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – 1/2up
  • Cardamom Powder – pinch
  • Dry ginger – pinch (optional)

METHOD:


1.Dry roast peanuts until it changes colour. Let it cool and rub it in hands to remove skin and break the peanuts into half.

2.Transfer the peanuts to mixer along with other ingredients.

3.Grind it well into powder until everything mix well.

4.Transfer it to a bowl and make small amount of mixture to make ladoos.

5.No need to add ghee for making round balls as the oil content in peanuts is enough for binding.

NOTE:

  • If you are not able to make balls then grind the mixture for some more time adding little jaggery.
  • Store in airtight container and it stays good for more than a month.
