RAGI BISCUITS

This is a healthy option to kids with ragi and Wheat. I have prepared it without oven. I am a biscuits lover and it would be there for sure in monthly grocery products but I always use to look for calories. Now I am happy that I have got a good alternative with less calories.

INGREDIENTS :

  • Ragi – 1 cup
  • Wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Salt – pinch
  • Butter – 1 /2 cup (melted)
  • Soda – 1/4 sp
  • Oil for deep frying

METHOD :


1.Mix all the ingredients well by adding little water.

2.The batter has to be firm enough to make small balls.

3.Then take balls and flatten it using chapathi roller.

4.Cut into any desired shapes using cookie cutter.

5.Heat oil in a pan, drop small piece to check for hotness of oil.

6.Drop the shaped pieces into oil one by one. Simmer the flame and fry until it gets cooked well from inside.

NOTE :

  • The colour of the biscuits would be dark due to ragi.
  • Always keep in medium flame after dropping biscuits into oil.
  • All purpose flour (maida) can be added instead of wheat.
