Potato fry, a delicious accompaniment to many a meal. I made this as a side dish to vendakkai puli kulambu. A very simple dish to prepare with few ingredients. This crispy fry can be made within minutes without boiling the potatoes. So it makes a quick, excellent side dish during your lazy day in kitchen.
- Potatoes – 6
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Sambar powder – 1 tsp
- Oil – 2 tsp
1.Wash and cut potatoes into small pieces.
2.Heat oil in a kadai and add potatoes to it.
3.Add salt, turmeric and sambar powder. Saute for few minutes continuously. Take care not to burn at the bottom.
4.Cook in medium flame until the potato pieces shrink and golden roasted evenly.
5.Transfer to a plate and add curry leaves at top, fried in remaining oil in the kadai.
- For babies below one year, do not add salt and the quantity of sambar powder can be adjusted accordingly.
- Pepper powder can be added instead of sambar powder.
