Homemade tandoori masala recipe with step-wise pictures. Tandoori masala is an authentic Indian spice mixture that is used in preparing many Indian recipes. It is free from preservatives and definitely better than store bought readymade powders. This homemade masala has extra flavors and completely aromatic. This spice masala can be used for making curries, tikkas, grilled Indian snacks and tandoori items.

No. Of serving : 1/2 cup of masala

INGREDIENTS:

  • Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Pepper seeds – 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp
  • Dry ginger – 1/2 inch
  • Cardamom – 5
  • Red chilli – 7
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch
  • Cloves – 10

METHOD:

1. Dry roast all the ingredients one by one until golden except garlic powder. I have used Coriander powder instead of seeds.

2. Once it cools, add into mixie along with garlic powder and grind into fine powder.

3. The homemade tandoori masala is ready. Store in airtight container.

4. It stays good even for 6 months. Add it while making tandoori tikkas.
