Tomato jam is perfect side dish for chapathi and dosa. This is delicious healthy jam without any preservative and can be made at home easily.
Lemon juice-1 sp
1.Boil tomatoes in water for two minutes.Then immediately rinse in running water.
2.Peel the skin and remove the seeds at the center.
3.Blend tomatoes into puree and pour into pan for cooking.
4.When the puree slightly changes color add sugar.
5.Cook in medium flame and take care not to burn at bottom.
6.When it reaches jam consistency switch off the flame.
7.Add drops of lemon juice when it cools down.
8.Store it in airtight container.
This can also be served as halwa by adding dry fruits fried in ghee. Tastes good when served hot.
