Wheat dates halwa can be given to babies from 8 months of age after introducing wheat and dates separately. The good option to make baby eat wheat and dates as they are super nutritious. When I prepared it for my little girl, not only she but everyone at home enjoyed having it.
- Dates – 6
- Wheat flour – 2 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Dry fruits powder – 2 tsp
1.Soak dates in water for about 10 minutes and grind into puree in a blender.
2.Heat ghee in a pan and add wheat flour to it. Roast for a minute till nice aroma comes.
3.Add one glass of water slowly without forming lumps, stir continuously till it gets cooked and becomes glossy.
4.Then add the dates puree and dry fruits powder to it and stir for few minutes until it becomes thick.
5.Serve it when cooled. It may become more thick when cooled so adjust consistency accordingly.
- when serving for adults milk can be added to wheat flour for cooking instead of water. Sugar or jaggery can be added for extra sweetness.
